Bronda's Duathlon Race Day Schedule - November 12, 2017

7:00am - 8:30am    Packet pick up opens
7:15am                 Transition Area Opens
8:30am                 Pre race meeting
8:45am                 Transition area Closes (All Bikes must be in Transition)
9:00am                 Race Start
10:00am               Post race area opens
11:00am               Race awards (Approximate time, actual time depends on field size and finish times)

Entrance to Infield Area and Parking

All participants and spectators will be able to access the infield area through the South Tunnel, located on the end closest to Hwy 114.    As your approaching the tunnel you will be asked by a TMS representative to sign in.  Texas Motor Speedway requires all individuals to sign in prior to entering the infield area.  Parking will be in the South Paddock Area.  Transition is located in the second set of Garages north of the parking area.

 Transition Area

 Will be located in the North Garage area of the infield.  After Parking in the South Paddock Area,  proceed down the main infield access road to the second set of garages. Just past Fuzzy's Taco Shop.

 Run Course Information

Short Course:  2Miles -  1st and 2nd Run:  Start and Finish area for both runs is at the North section of Garages on the Infield.  1st and 2nd Runs are the same.

 Bike Course Information

Start and Finish area for the Bike is at the North section of Garages on the Infield.  Exit the the infield through the North Tunnel and proceed out to Victory Circle.  Riders to complete to complete 3 Laps of Victory Circle and then return to the infield via the North Tunnel.  The Leg out of the stadium is used only to access the Loop where the laps are completed, and used to return to the stadium once the laps are completed.

 Info and general questions:

What to bring with you to Registration:  You will need to Bring a Photo ID and your USAT card if you are an annual member.

Clydesdale's and Athena's:  Weight Requirement;  Clyde's =220 #'s or more and Athena = 165#'s or more. All those reg'ed in these categories will be weighed in at packet pick up.  If you don't meet the weight requirements we will shift you to your respective age group.

Bike Course Aid Stations:  This event will not have an aid Stations on the bike course. 

Multiple Lap Bike and/or Run Courses:  It will be the Athletes responsibility to count their laps and complete the course.

Course knowledge:  It is the Athletes responsibility to know and follow the race course.  We will sign the course and have volunteers on the course to assist you, however, your sole dependence on the volunteers to direct you, could lead to you going off course.  Know the Course!

What Do I do if I break down on the bike Course?  A Sag vehicle will be on the course.  Step to the side of the road and tell a course marshal of law officer that you need a ride, they will radio the race command.  The Sag support is a courtesy not a taxi service.  It may take 20-30 minutes or more for the sag support vehicle to arrive to your location.  If you accept mechanical support help during the event you will be DQ'ed. Be prepared to repair your own bike to ensure placement in the race results. 

What type of bike can I use?  Standard road and Mt bikes are permitted,  recumbent bikes are not allowed.

Helmets are required to be on and buckled at any time you are on the bike.

Are the roads open or closed to traffic during the race?  The roads are open to traffic.  This event we will have lane closures.  If there is a lane closure you will be required to ride within the designated lane. 

Timing:  all our multisport events use chip timing.  You will be provided a timing chip with a velcro strap.  This chip using the provided strap is to be placed around your left ankle.  These chips are expensive, replacement cost is $30.  The Athlete will be responsible for replacement if lost. 

Transition Area etiquette:  Only Athletes are allowed in the transition.  This is considered a secure area.  No friends or relatives permitted to enter the transition area.

Bike removal from the transition area after the event:  The Race director will be the one that announces when the transition area will open for equipment removal.   Normally we will open the transition once the final biker re-racks their bike.

I am unable to make the race can I get a refund?:  It is clearly stated in all of our materials, there will be NO REFUNDS.

If you are unable to compete due to illness and/or injury then you may qualify for a medical transfer to next year’s event. In order to qualify you must email the This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and request a rollover prior to the event.

I gave my entry to a friend, because I was not able to race, is this ok?:  Absolutely Not. If someone else races under your name and is injured, or causes an accident, that person will not be covered by any protection typically afforded to an athlete through the event insurance. Additionally, if the athlete racing in your name causes injury or damage, you may be liable in part or full for those damages.
